Tkon is a charming village located on the southern part of Pašman Island, in Croatia’s Zadar region. This small settlement has a rich history, dating back to prehistoric times. The island was inhabited by the Illyrians and Romans, with remnants of ancient settlements found in the area.

During the Middle Ages, Tkon was under the rule of Benedictine monks from the Monastery of St. Cosmas and Damian (12th century) on the nearby hill of Cokovac. This monastery remains one of the most significant historical landmarks, housing valuable Glagolitic manuscripts and maintaining Croatia’s oldest Benedictine tradition.

Throughout history, Tkon was part of Venetian, Austrian, and later Yugoslav rule, before becoming part of modern Croatia. Today, it retains its authentic Dalmatian atmosphere, with stone houses, a fishing tradition, and stunning nature.
